They work worldwide to provide emotional support, and reduce suicide.  They listen to people who are in distress.  Befrienders Worldwide don't judge them or tell them what to do - they listen.

Dying Matters Coalition:   www.dyingmatters.org

The Dying Matters Coalition is led by the National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC), the umbrella charity for all those who are involved in palliative care, and is supported by the Department of Health.  The Coalition's Mission is "to support changing knowledge, attitudes and behaviours towards death, dying and bereavement, and through this to make 'living and dying well' the norm".

Caroline Sherwood is a writer and teacher based in Glastonbury where she also offers B&B to wayfarers. A former member of the editorial team of the Buddhist Hospice Trust's journal, Caroline ran a course entitled 'Live this year as though it were your last.' It was as a result of participating in this course, when Caroline facilitated it in France, that the idea of 'Open Door' was developed.  She has taught meditation and Tibetan yoga (kum nye) for many years and is now focusing on writing.
