Thé Anglais - Saturday afternoon - 9th August 2008

Our afternoon of English Teas and delicious home made cakes and pastries at the Moulin Neuf, the home of Jan and Malcolm Ingram is becoming a regular fund raising event for us at Open Door.
Jan and Malcolm have kindly let us set up camp in the garden of their lovely home at 20 rue du Moulin Neuf in Civray where teas will be served from 14h00 until 17h00 alongside the river. Also in that part of the town they will be holding the Fête du Grand Pont where there will be a number of stalls selling all manor of articles.
It is very easy to find the Mill, if you are approaching from the North then you need to find Rue Duplessis, drive past the Hôtel des Impots and once you have crossed the bridge over the Charente take the first road on the right and continue down there for about 200 yards.
If approaching from the Ruffec direction then you need to follow the first centre ville sign from the Rocade which should take you into Avenue Maurice Bailly and then you need to turn left just before the bridge over the Charente.
We look forward to seeing you on the 9th August.
If you wouild like to volunteer to help us on the day or are able to bake a cake for us then please let us know at info@opendoor-civray.com

From Wednesday 23 April 2008
Visitors to our drop-in centre at 18 rue Pierre Pestureau, Civray will have their visit enhanced by seeing a small exhibition of paintings by Jean Benny, one of our members. There are some very attractive watercolours and sketches all framed and all available for purchase. Jean is also willing to undertake a commission to produce an unframed painting of your chateau or more modest abode for a mere 50 euros.
From each sale a donation is made to Open Door, so everybody benefits. Just to remind you that the paintings can be viewed each Wednesday between 10.00hrs and middday and from 14.00-17.00 hours and also on Friday mornings from 10.00hrs to middday.
